“The child moves him or herself toward learning when given the necessary support…”
Dr. Maria Montessori
The education we offer at Wilburton Montessori School is an exciting and inspiring journey of discovery and the acquisition of life-long learning skills and experiences for children from 3 to 6 years of age.
In the early years children are introduced to practical life activities to encourage independence and self confidence as well as development through the senses with beautifully designed materials to awaken learning through direct sensorial experience. Early maths, language, science, and geography principles are developed with hands-on equipment and activities. Teacher inspire young children’s natural curiosity in learning about the world around them.

Additional Learning Subjects
The child is also presented with music and art. These fun sessions allow children to try new ideas. We also have food preparation and gardening sessions to learn crucial skills and further prepare children for life.
Social Emotional Learning
Part of the school’s responsibility is overseeing the social, emotional, and ethical development of its children. We believe that developing social and emotional learning is critical to a child’s development, as it directly correlates to success and happiness as an adult.
Lunch:
This is a time for our children to relax and eat their meals together. Teachers eat with the children to provide proper modeling of etiquette and social skills within a calm and structured environment. Our children learn how to set the table, how to clean up their areas, and how to enjoy their meals and each other in the beautiful setting of their classrooms. Care and cleanliness, proper usage of utensils, and appropriate interactions are observed. Children provide their own lunch.
Quiet time
Quiet Time allows children the chance to sit in quiet with their own thoughts and feelings to focus and build their attention span.

Team Work
At the end of the day children will work with others as a part of a team. They will learn how to effectively communicate with others, how to listen to others, how to speak and they will gain self-confidence.
